I wanted to make more colorful fingerprint flower magnets for the spring season in a batch that features striped petunias. It kind of took me a while at first to decide what striped petunias I wanted to make, but after learning that there are yellow striped petunias as well as the white striped ones, that, along with the Chalet Creme Girl Scout Cookies I remember having for a snack when they used to be around during my preschool and kindergarten years, was what inspired me to give half of my petunia magnet batch white stripes, including this blue-violet and white one here, and the other half yellow stripes. I originally planned to create 8 different colored petunia magnets total, but I also decided to try out my rainbow ink pad (which turns out to just have a color range from blue to purple) that I got one time when I went thrift shopping in Vegas. I added 4 more striped petunias to my petunia magnet batch by wanting to include blue-violet and purple petunias, even though the petals of those petunias ended up becoming fuzzy because the pigment ink would not stay put. (I also realized that the pigment ink has also fades in the sun overtime, so I replaced this Blue-Violet and White Petunia Magnet by remaking it with higher quality pigment ink that will hopefully last longer) These Colorful Petunia Magnets did take at least a bit longer to make than my usual batch of simple magnets because my white Sharpie paint marker required multiple coats to draw out the stripes for pretty much most of the petunias and then would take a while to dry before I drew the center parts at least. I also originally planned to use my 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" flat glass marbles for these petunia magnets, but I ended up making the petunias small enough to only need my 7/8" x 7/8" ones.
My Blue-Violet and White Striped Petunia Magnet is currently out of stock, but I should have enough materials to make about a couple more magnets like this.If you would like a Blue-Violet and White Striped Petunia Magnet, or if you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected].
