I wanted to make a batch of Turkey Magnets for Thanksgiving and the holiday season. I felt inspired by a few school art projects I had as a kid that involved making turkeys for Thanksgiving (especially the one during my kindergarten year when I made my turkey out of a bag of rice and possibly cardstock paper), along with the “Disguise the Turkey” project I got to work on with my nephew when he was in kindergarten, to give the feathers of these Turkey Magnets a rainbow color scheme (I originally planned to just do the 6 basic rainbow colors, but I decided to use both my tropical blue and indigo blue pigment ink colors and go for the colors of a real rainbow). I based the designs of my fingerprint turkeys off of my Geometric Turkey drawing, but I actually included the red wattles as well and made the eyes more cartoony for the sake of being able to see them. I then wanted to use my biggest flat glass marbles I have, after selling all of my Colorful Lion Magnets, to put these Turkey Magnets together. The magnets overall were not as complex to make as I thought
My Indigo Turkey Magnet is currently out of stock, but I should have enough materials to make more magnets like this.If you would like an Indigo Turkey Magnet like this one here, or if you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected].
