After making commissioned Ladybug Earrings for one of my art vendor friends at one of the Art Walk events in Temecula, she, along with another art vendor friend, suggested that I should make more of those in a rainbow batch. I said I was going to make a rainbow batch of Ladybug Earrings (in the same color scheme as my very 1st rainbow batch of Froggy Earrings but with 2 different brands of polymer clay I currently have for each half of the batch and the bubblegum pink colored polymer clay for this pink pair) the spring afterwards, which I did and managed to finish before Summer Solstice, the official First Day of Summer. This was quite a big polymer clay jewelry project between kneading the base colors (especially since the polymer clay I used requires a lot of kneading (and sometimes Vaseline) for it to work), 112 little black spots (not counting the heads) total, 64 little white spots total, having to use a lot of epoxy glue to fix most of the polymer clay ladybugs (and going through the epoxy glue dispenser as I was learning to mix the 2 parts and get one of them to come out when it would not), a lot of acrylic paint touch-ups for all of them and replacing an ear hook. One thing that really motivated me to complete these Rainbow Ladybug Earrings was receiving the opportunity to come back to the Temecula Art Walk event where I have met my friend who commissioned the 1st Ladybug Earrings and where this idea was born (including the inspiration to use gold jewelry pieces).
